Spirit of MAS - The winner is.....
During 2016 we ran a “Spirit of MAS” photo competition to showcase what makes the Section special. Members were asked to submit photos that reflected the Spirit of MAS theme such as taking part in a walking or cycling activity, simply relaxing on site, a spectacular landscape or sunset. The winning entry was taken by Dave Hall while attending the Northern Area Meet at Gibraltar Farm, Silverdale when he joined Queens Guide Cedric Robinson to walk across the sands of Morecambe Bay and support the Winston’s Wish charity for bereaved children. The judges were impressed by how Dave captured the reflections in the sands while showing the isolation of the group in the vast expanse of the bay. Highly commended by the judges were the competition entries submitted by Julia Frampton of Wessex Area members walking through a field of oats and the view of the Malvern Hllls from Jenny Williams snapped during the Eastnor Castle meet hosted by the Peakland Area. Click on the More Info link to view the photos.
MAS are members of The Walking Partnership operated by Rambler’s Holidays. The Partnership provides direct financial support for organisations that encourage walking and organise group walks. If any MAS member books a holiday with Rambler’s Holidays they can nominate MAS for a donation. If you are considering a break with Rambler’s Holidays please remember to say that you are a member of MAS when you make your booking, otherwise we will miss out on the donation.
